Hi, I'm Chris Majors

commercial photographer, visual storyteller, and the kid who wore out his grandfather's copies of National Geographic before he ever picked up a camera.

That early obsession led to a first solo exhibition in 1999, then to the San Francisco Art Institute in 2002, where I studied under renowned photographer Linda Connor. My work earned a solo gallery show there, uncommon for undergraduates, typically reserved for graduate students selected by a faculty panel. It was the moment I understood this was serious.

In 2011 and 2012, I received two highly competitive Adobe Foundation Creativity Grants, selected from a global pool of applicants. The grants funded documentary work on water and sanitation programs in Kenya and Uganda. The resulting images were exhibited at the Manny Silverman Gallery in Beverly Hills alongside photographer Rudi Dundas, several prints sold for $1,200 each, including two purchased by Queen Latifah. That work grew into "The Face of Water," a traveling exhibition that has raised over $80,000 and helped bring clean drinking water to approximately 50,000 people.

By day I serve as Director of Marketing and PR for a regional healthcare system, a role I've held since 2017 that took me through the COVID pandemic alongside the clinical teams on the front lines. That experience informs everything: I understand what organizations need from their photography because I sit on the other side of the table every day.

What I love most about photography is the puzzle, taking a client's goals and turning them into images that actually work. Twenty-five years in, that hasn't changed.
